Vik Roda – Founder and Mortgage & Insurance Adviser
Having studied IT at University, Vik pursued a career in financial services when his father offered him a job working at his own practice. Vik hasn’t looked back having found his first foray into financial advice so utterly rewarding.
Vik went on to start his own practice in 2009 after his father retired and, and since then, he has achieved ‘Elite Adviser’ status on more than one occasion. It was this same drive to simplify and streamline some of the rather more traditional and antiquated processes in financial services which led Vik to setting-up Mortgagez in 2018.
Vik was motivated by his love of transformative technology and his increasing frustration as to how slow and inefficient the process of obtaining a mortgage was. Mortgagez has rapidly progressed to successfully obtain direct FCA authorisation in 2019 before eventually launching into the UK marketplace in January 2021.
Alex Seth – Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer
Alex has spent his entire career of two and half decades within the retail consumer financial services (FS) sector – spanning across a wide range of blue-chip life companies, wealth managers, asset managers, retail and investment banks, consultancies, insurers, business process outsourcers, mortgage companies and technology providers.
His previous positions include a director role as the UK Head of Wealth – Direct to Consumer for HSBC, Head of Distribution Operations for Prudential, Digital Product Owner at the AA Financial Services, UK Insurance Product Manager for Swiss Re/ iptiQ, and Commercial Manager for Institutional Funding at OneFamily.
As the company COO – Alex takes on the responsibility of ensuring that Mortgagez is structured to operate responsibly within the UK’s highly regulated market, so that it can therefore continue to adapt to ever-changing customer needs and the regulatory landscape.
Gurps Roda – Customer Success Manager
Having studied information systems at university, Gee went on to procure a career in the analytical field. Gee worked as an analyst for several companies in various industries, but the financial services sector was always the one that resonated best with her, so when the opportunity to join Mortgagez came along, she didn’t hesitate to engage and hasn’t looked back since.
In her spare time, Gee enjoys keeping fit and spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling to explore exploring different cultures.
Chand Tank – Compliance Manager
Chand has been working in the mortgage and insurance world for over 30 years. Having studied for a degree in Economics and deciding to be in the financial field, Chand ran his own mortgage brokerage for many years in London. Latterly, Chand has spent a lot of time in compliance roles with many blue-chip financial institutions and the top 4 consultancies in the UK.
Chand is committed to delivering the very best in service and outcomes for all clients.
Alastair Mugford – Mortgage & Insurance Adviser
Alastair is one of the first fully qualified advisers to join the team.
Alastair has a background in marketing and was previously working for a golf marketing agency on the South Coast of England. Once the pandemic hit, Alastair decided to switch careers altogether and achieved his CeMAP level 3 qualification in September 2020 before joining our team.
In his spare time, Alastair is an avid sports fan, regularly playing golf (poorly he says!) at Goodwood. Outside of sport, Alastair enjoys walks with his son and fiance, as well as visiting various places around the UK.
Edward Osbourne-Fardon – Chief Marketing Officer
Edward is Chief Marketing Officer at Mortgagez and a founding member of the team. Edward is also a fully qualified CeMAP level 3 mortgage adviser.
His marketing experience spans almost 25 years in financial services, working across some very well-known organisations in senior roles at Schroders, Vanguard and Prudential.
Edward started his career at GE where his role saw him analysing the success of marketing campaigns before progressing through to Head of UK Marketing at Schroders working within their wealth management division.
Through his roles, Edward has built a knowledge and passion for building and developing brands.
